Finally arrived in Cormyr. According to the laws I'm required to have a charter in order to bear weapons, which I'm not worried about, but I am a little worried that without it anything I find will be confiscated by the authorities. I don't know what they would do with the things I find, so I think I'll have to get that charter. Hopefully it doesn't set me back too much.

So apparently a charter costs a thousand coins. Not that much, I thought, and then I realized they meant gold! GOLD!
Luckily, I was able to work something out with the border authorities, so I guess I'm set for the time being.
Onto Suzail!

I arrived in Suzail without too much worry. I mean, besides being attacked by a wandering swarm of giant ants, but luckily they don't run very fast.
Met a few people, some of them better than others. Most of the locals seem good and kind enough, so I guess Cormyr was a pretty good choice for growth. I also met a handful of adventurers with plans of good intentioned questing, but while I traveled with them they seemed... less than positive. I think they're probably a good example of what I was taught, that you have fully consider the consequences of your actions. I know they mean well, but I can't help but feel that their actions will lead to a negative outcome in time.

So it turns out that there's a ton of really awesome people here! And then a bunch of not so awesome people... and then some nondescript people. The important thing is that most of them are already in the process of growing even without my help, and there's still plenty of people who need me.
Unrelated, there's a handful of undead in the area that need being put to rest. For now this is my personal goal to focus my own growth. Thus far I've managed to fight my way to the second floor of the mausoleum within Suzail on my own, but I don't yet have the inner strength to go further.

I've been considering the idea of joining the Purple Dragons. Being so close to a group of people in that manner would certainly be a great boon to my goal and I could always continue doing what I do now, but their rules make me hesitate. I'm going to continue thinking about this, but for the time being I'll just have to continue doing what I've been doing!!
Nightal 5th, 1371
Amidst fighting trolls and other divergences from my personal goal, I have to wonder if all of this negative action is actually doing something good for the people I have been traveling with. I mean, they're growing but as the Warlock so clearly demonstrated in the raid of the Troll Warrens earlier... If there is something more to these actions than mindless destruction, I have yet to come across it. I think I shall have to redouble my seed planting efforts in order to make up for the mistakes that have been these explorations.

It turns out that one of the people I've been working with, the Paladin of Tyr, has been trying to raise funds to construct an Abby of the Triad in cooperation with a partner of his. It's wonderful to be certain, seeing as how many people would be served by the nature of their work, but there's always the possibility that it will instead be used to simply convert people to their gods. I don't think this is a likely possibility, seeing as how they seemed rather open to my suggestion of a shrine of Lathander, but one should always look right underneath their nose for things they are unable to see. In any case, for the time being I'll be offering a portion of my funds to this Abby, and keeping track of its shaping.

A local bard has told me of a series of recent events which are rather concerning. Evidently there was an adventuring party that went out on a quest to find a mushroom as a cure for a deathly ill relative, but all turned ill as a dragon approached them. The bard in question, a man by the name of Ravial, managed to bargain for the lives of the rest of the group with his own - a noble cause to be sure, but the only victory found there was that the mushroom was recovered. The rest of the group managed to raise the man thanks to Tymora's blessing, and in truth things could be much worse, but I feel like this outlining of the positive doesn't show the full depth of the disaster.

I came across a follower of Sune, a fellow traveler from Waterdeep. She claimed to be favored by the Lady of Passion and Beauty, and after meeting with her I have no doubts of it. With every word and action she mirrors the priestess in the Lady Firehair's temple back in Waterdeep. I'm glad to know that there is someone of such warmth and kindness here that I might ask for aid from, but I shouldn't get too relaxed in my own efforts. I still have a job to do, and while she may offer warmth to the people it is my responsibility to offer them hope as certain as the dawn.
